Question by Tori: When does the initial breakout on accutane start?
I am on my 4th week of accutane and my skin seems to be clearing up. I thought i noticed my skin get a little worse after the first week, but nothing to bad. Since then my skin has cleared up tremendously. I am on 80 mg, and i was wondering, is the worse yet to come, or did i perhaps get lucky and wont experiance a bad IB? Please share some of your experiences, and also mention how much you were taking.

My daughter was on 40mg for almost a year. Nothing really bad happened, just a few small nose bleeds. It did not give worse spots at the beginning. That’s a few years ago and it has never come back.

I was on accutane for 6 months and I think after the first 2 weeks my skin really started to get better. I think it depends on what skin care line your dermatologist has you on in conjunction with the accutane. Drink alot of gatorade for hydration, chapstick, a little vasoline inside your nostrils when you go to sleep. I had a real good experience with accutane. I can’t remember how much I was taking, its been 7 years.
